About Michael
Michael Albert is a professional photographer and the proprietor of Michael Albert Photography, based in the Comox Valley.
One of Vancouver Island’s premiere commercial photographers, Michael is respected for his quick eye and keen artistic vision. His work has been featured in consumer magazines such as National Geographic Traveler and Photo District News, as well as in a wide variety of commercial campaigns.
A passionate outdoorsman, Michael draws his inspiration from the inherent splendour of the natural world and the infectious energy of those who appreciate it. Behind the lens, this passion translates into a unique ability to reveal the intrinsic beauty of his subjects and to create a captivating dialogue between photograph and observer.
Michael Albert has worked full-time as a photographer since 2004 and is an award-winning member of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and the Wedding Photojournalist Association. Academically, he’s studied under internationally renowned photojournalist Antonin Kratochvil as well as longtime National Geographic photographer Joe McNally, one of American Photo magazine’s “100 Most Important People in Photography.”
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Michael relocated to Vancouver Island in 2008 for the inspiring beauty of the area and the invigorating West Coast lifestyle.
